A hole-in-one at LIV Golf Adelaide's 'Watering Hole' sent fans wild, it's one of the best atmospheres in golf

LIV Golf Adelaide took place over the weekend with American star Talor Gooch taking home the in to win the inaugural LIV Australia tournament.

It was a tournament full of compelling action but it is perhaps the antics off the course that made the most waves.

The tour had unveiled the ‘Watering Hole’ at the Grange Golf Club, the designated party hole of the event.

And boy did it live up to its name.

The atmosphere was electric throughout the tournament with every shot cheered in the hope of a hole-in-one.

The masses had to wait until Sunday, but they finally got what they had been craving when Chase Koepka stepped up to the tee.

Floating the ball onto the green the crowd grew in anticipation as it rolled toward the hole and finally fell in.

The Adelaide fans went wild in scenes reminiscent of a 90th-minute goal in the FA Cup final.

Beer and cups flew everywhere, throughout the stands and onto the green as Koepka celebrated with his team.

It was absolute madness and a fantastic representation of just how fun the weekend in Adelaide had been.

The 12th hole had already earned a reputation for its party atmosphere throughout the three days and lived up to the tagline: “It’s golf, but louder.”

There was a resident DJ at the hole and every participant got cheered on loudly as they stepped up to the tee.

Eccentric Aussie DJ Fisher even riled up the crowd, flying in from Coachella to Adelaide to do a ‘shoey’ right in front of fellow Australian Cam Smith.

The players absolutely revelled in the atmosphere.

Smith said of the crowd: “I thought yesterday was probably the loudest I‘d hit a shot in front of, and today it was turned up another notch again.”
