Unseen angle of Alejandro Garnacho's overhead kick shows just how incredible his strike really was

Fan footage of Alejandro Garnacho's goal of the season contender against Everton shows just how ridiculous the strike actually was.

It was an effort that left Goodison Park, and Garnacho himself, in a state of shock.

After full-back Diogo Dalot crossed from deep, the Argentine managed to adjust his body and score a Cristiano Ronaldo-esque overhead kick to silence the Gladys Street End.

Just over 3,000 fans in the Goodison away end celebrated a goal that will no doubt go down as one of the best in Premier League history.

In fact, one supporter managed to capture the unfolding events on their phone, with the footage of Garnacho's sublime effort soon emerging on social media. Check it out below:

Gary Neville, who was in the commentary box for Sky Sports alongside Rob Hawthorne, was quick to make the inevitable Wayne Rooney comparison.

“He can’t believe it, Garnacho. I can’t believe it," the former Manchester United defender said.

"I don’t think I’ve ever been in a stadium to see an overhead kick as good as that - and I was there for Rooney’s in the Manchester derby. That was unbelievable. A magical, magical goal.”

Garnacho would later receive the Player of the Match award for his efforts on Sunday night, although teammate Bruno Fernandes was quick to make a joke about his performance.

He did, however, say that Garnacho has the potential to become "something special" in world football.

When asked to comment on Garnacho's outing, the United captain said: "So-so! I give him a good nod just for the goal, but that's because he knows I have big expectations for him.

"He's a great player... he's not a great player yet, but he has a great future ahead. We expect a lot from him, he knows that, I'll always be behind him, asking for more. Honestly, amazing goal."

Fernandes added: "A goal like this has to silence the crowd. Everton fans were not really happy about that, but I think they enjoy to see these kind of things.

"It's amazing for the football, players can do this, and we are all proud of him. Obviously, I'm very happy to have him on my side."

Moments before Garnacho received the Player of the Match award, Fernandes joked: "I don't think he deserves it, but take it. For the goal, so you can remember it."
