GTA 6 could include Lionel Messi, Jake Paul and UFC legend as list of rumoured cameo appearances emerges

Lionel Messi and Jake Paul are just two of the names rumoured to potentially feature in Grand Theft Auto 6 after the game was announced by Rockstar Games.

On Wednesday, Rockstar finally delivered the confirmation that fans of the GTA series have been anticipating for almost 10 years - GTA 6 is on its way.

They posted to X (Twitter): "We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you."

There is little information about the game thus far, although as per Dexerto, it is rumoured to feature two protagonists - a man and a woman - in a Bonnie and Clyde-style scenario.

But as we saw in GTA 5, there was still room for cameo appearances throughout the story. And a number of names from the sporting world have been linked with potentially featuring in GTA 6 when it is released.

Betting side Bovada (as per Daily Star) priced up YouTube star and boxer Jake Paul at odds of 20/1 - making him one of the most likely celebrities to make a cameo appearance in GTA 6.

Audioviser (via GameRant) claimed that Rockstar would incorporate episodes of the 'Joe Rogan Experience' podcast into the game, although such a collaboration appears extremely unlikely given Rockstar's previous policy of parodying top media personalities, and Rogan's past criticisms of the video game industry.

Meanwhile, fans believe that Lionel Messi could make a surprise appearance in the game - given that he currently plays in the United States with Inter Miami.

Adding further fuel to the fire is the rumour that the game will return to Vice City. Although not confirmed, a collaboration with Messi and/or Inter Miami would certainly make some degree of sense.
