New close-up footage of Khamzat Chimaev incident at UFC 280 appears to show what triggered brawl

New footage of the altercation between Khamzat Chimaev and Khabib Nurmagomedov's cousin has emerged online and supposedly reveals what was said during their intense meeting.

Chimaev and Abubakar clashed following Islam Makhachev's flawless victory over Charles Oliveira at UFC 280 last weekend.

During Makhachev's post-fight interview, Chimaev and Abubakar got into a scuffle Octagon-side as security was forced to intervene.

Punches were thrown as security eventually separated Chimaev and Abubakar - with Khabib looking ready to jump the cage to defend his cousin.

The videos shows Chimaev approaching Abubakar and tapping him on the stomach.

Abubakar then calls the UFC superstar back and grills him over his behaviour.

The pair disagree and go back-and-forth before Abubakar attempts to intimidate Chimaev, who reacts angrily.

The Chechen-born Swedish fighter pushes Abubakar and dodges the punches thrown in his direction before all hell breaks loose.

UFC legend Khabib, though, put an end to the 'nonsense' beef as he issued a statement.

Speaking in a room with Chimaev and Abubakar present, he said: "What happened yesterday does not show us well.

"Neither me, nor Khamzat nor Abubakar. To tell you the truth, we are tired of this nonsense.

"Here we are gathered together as brothers, we hugged and Inshallah I hope that in the future we will only gather and fight for good reasons."

The peace agreement between Team Khabib and Chimaev comes after they exchanged barbs on social media.

Khabib hit out at Chimaev following his antics at UFC 279 and said he needs more Muslims in his team.

'Borz' fired back, with his one of his coaches responding to Khabib's claim.

Chimaev is looking for his next UFC assignment, having easily defeated Kevin Holland last month.

A fight against top UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington has been mooted.
