Conor McGregor Slammed For Being A “Little Rich Weirdo” By Former MMA Star

Conor McGregor was slammed for his recent online behaviour and been called a "little rich weirdo" by Chael Sonnen.

The former UFC Light Heavyweight and Middleweight fighter made the comments in a recent episode of The American Gangster's ESPN+ weekly series, "The Chael Sonnen Show With Jorge Sedano."

The retired mixed martial artist criticised the Irishman's behaviour after suffering a leg break in his defeat to Dustin Poirier in July.

The "Notorious" has taken to Twitter to slam several other UFC fighters before deleting the tweets shortly afterwards.

He is eager to get back into the octagon as soon as possible, but will not be able to return to action until later in 2022, and his next fight is yet to be confirmed.

An article by technotrenz.com revealed that Sonnen made his "little rich weirdo" comments after being asked by Sedano about a video which showed McGregor pacing around a room as he watched his former opponent, Max Holloway, fight inside the octagon.

A summary of what Sonnen said in the video is below.

He said: "Conor is on the verge of becoming а little rich weirdo."

"It's the last thing I wanted for him, he's posting things, then deleting them.

"Conor isn't going to step in with Mаx [Holloway] any more than he was with the guy from last week, the week before, or whoever he pulls out of his hat for next week. He'll have to take care of himself. I've got to give the troll everything I've got.

"As а former troll, I understand. "If they're in the UFC, you didn't step foot in it, you didn't throw а single punch, and you can steal а headline on ESPN+, you're doing something right."

"Dustin Poirier, who has already smаshed him twice, is mentioned. Conor, to be fair, is still а big draw, but he's working against himself. He's acting strangely. Is this the kind of person he wants to be?

"A man screaming at а television while walking around without his shirt on. Come on, you know what I'm talking about. To be fair, it was one thing when you were 22 years old, but as а husband and father, you're а bit of а jerk."

McGregor retaliated to Sonnen's comments on Twitter with the words, "says the little broke weirdo hahahahhahaha."

The Twitter dialogue between McGregor and Sonnen continued, with the latter mocking the Irishman's whiskey business, prompting another eye-catching response from "Notorious."

The to-and-fro on social media is being lapped up online, and it will be interesting to see if this war of words continues.
