Sir Alex Ferguson gives hilarious answer to who he wants to win the Premier League title race

Sir Alex Ferguson gave the perfect answer for a Manchester United fan about who he wants to win the Premier League title race this season.

This year's title race looks like it could go down to the wire, even if Jamie O'Hara believes he knows exactly when Arsenal are going to screw things up.

Mikel Arteta's side though continue to defy the odds, staying ahead of Manchester City by five points, with just 11 games of the season to go.

Other former Tottenham Hotspur players are certainly starting to get worried about it, revealing their long held love for Pep Guardiola's side.

Manchester United fans have hoped they were in with a shout of joining the title race but recent results, including the hammering at the hands of Liverpool, have ended that.

So who would Sir Alex rather win the league? The United legend was asked by ITV whilst he took in the latest racing action from the Cheltenham Festival.

The Scotsman had the perfect response, as you can see in the video below.

Unsurprisingly, the Scotsman is 'not interested' in who would win the league, and you imagine the only way he'd give it shorter shrift would be if Liverpool were involved.

Some might have expected that the Gunners would be preferable to City, considering Guardiola's team could equal his record of three titles in-a-row, but he has history with the north Londoners.

Of course, during his time as manager at Old Trafford, the former Rangers player had a much bigger rivalry with Arsenal than City.

Back then, their local rivals were nowhere near his side, and were even in the Championship on a couple of occasions, rather than the trophy winning machine they've become.

Arsenal were United's arch nemesis at the time, with the two sides splitting tites between themselves, and a loss to Arsene Wenger's side was even the inspiration for his decision to kick a boot in the dressing room, which hit David Beckham.

On Wednesday, Ferguson was enjoying his other passion, horse racing, as the Cheltenham Festival entered its second day of action.

It wasn't a good start for the 81-year-old, as his horse Hermes Allen failed to finish in the top three in the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle.

Still, he could have made himself feel a bit better by drinking the 'world's most expensive pint,' costing £20 a time at Cheltenham.
